Israel-Palestine Conflict

The Israel-Palestine conflict refers to the ongoing territorial and political dispute between Israelis and Palestinians, primarily over land and national identity. It has its roots in the early 20th century, with the rise of nationalist movements among both Jews and Arabs in the region of historic Palestine. Following the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948, conflicts arose over land claims, refugee issues, statehood, and self-determination. The conflict has led to several wars, uprisings (Intifadas), and persistent violence, significantly impacting regional stability and international relations. Central to the conflict are key issues such as the status of Jerusalem, the borders of Israel and a potential Palestinian state, security concerns, the right of return for Palestinian refugees, and mutual recognition. Various attempts at peace negotiations have been made over the years, but a lasting resolution has yet to be achieved, making it one of the most enduring and complex conflicts in modern history.
